An interesting motorcycle tour around Iceland with many breathtaking places and scenery to experience. Geysir hots pring, Gullfoss waterfall, unique landscape and much much more.  This is a once-in-a-lifetime tour that offers you to experience this very special country with its rich of history and culture. This tour is mostly on pavement and is easy to ride.  This tour is for everyone, from 21 year old an up.  Nice bikes, good guides and great people.  Icelandic food, Icelandic weather, Icelandic landscape and much much more.

Minimum riders: 4,  Max 10.

Included in the price:  The motorcycle, insurance, fuel, guide on a motorcycle, support vehicle with trailer, all accommodation, breakfast and dinners while in the tour.

Not included:  Airfare to and from Iceland, hotel before and after the tour, alcohol drinks.

Gullfoss - The Golden Waterfall

 


Day 1
Reykjavik -  Borgarnes - Snæfellsnes - Stykkishólmur

After a short visit to our head office and some paperwork, we start our tour and ride of to the north.  Our first stop is in a small village named Borgarnes.  A beautiful place with warm people and a nice scenery.  The Snæfellsnes peninsula is a beautiful are and It has been named Iceland in Miniature, as many national sights can be found in the area, including the Snæfellsjökull volcano, regarded as one of the symbols of Iceland. With its height of 1446m, it is the highest mountain on the peninsula and has a glacier at its peak. "jökull" means "glacier" in the Icelandic language. The volcano can be seen on clear days from Reykjavík, a distance of about 120 km away. The mountain is also known as the setting of the novel Journey to the Center of the Earth by the French author Jules Verne. We will spend the night in a small town, Stykkisholmur, which is located on the north side of the peninsula.

Day 2

Stykkishólmur - Búðardalur - Djúpavík

From Stykkishólmur we ride to on and soon we will stop and visit the birthplace of Leif the lucky, son of Erik the Red, the Vikings that discovered America.  An interest place to visit and see how the Vikings lived.  One of Iceland´s best kept secret is the Wesfjords.  Iceland´s most remote region and possibly the most enthralling, the West Fjords are a world apart. Virtually separated from the rest of Iceland and sparsely populated, the area is characterized by dramatic fjords and towering angular cliffs rising sharply from deep blue seas. After a beautiful day we end it in Djúpavík hotel, a building that was formerly the living quarters for women working in a herring processing factory that was built in the bay but fell into disuse many years ago.

Day 3
Djúpavík - Hólmavík - Geysir
The longest day of the tour.  We will have to ride hard this day to cover all the exiting things and places on our route.  Thingvellir national park, the Golden Waterfall (Gullfoss) and our famous hot spring Geysir, are few of the places we see today along with magnificent scenery and landscape.  We spend the day at Geysir hot spring area. Nice dinner, great partners sums up the day.

Day 4
Geysir - Flúðir - Skógar
From Geysir we head south and all the way to our black beaches.  Some highlights of the day include the beautiful waterfall Seljalandsfoss, where we get the chance of go behind the waterfall, visit to our famous black beaches, ride below one of our big glaciers and more.  Easy and relaxed day with good friends.  Skógar, a small village in the countryside is our destination today where we will spend the night below a spectacular waterfall, Skógarfoss.

Day 5

Skógar - Selfoss - Eyrarbakki - Keflavík - Reykjavík
Our last day of riding.  We take to course to Reykjavik, but with a visit to some interesting places.  We ride along the south coast where we can enjoy the view while riding.  Vestman Islands, glaciers, wildlife and the rugged sea are just examples of what you will see today.  Reykjanes peninsula is one of the most active volcanic and earthquakes are in the world.  At the end of the day we go to the Blue Lagoon and from there to Reykjavik where we end the tour.

Requirements: 
To participate in an enduro tour with Blue Mountain Tours, you must hold a valid motorcycle license, and be at leas 21 years old. Min 4 participants and max 10 participants.
Safety deposit:
Before we start riding you must sign a tour-agreement where you state that you take full responsibility of the motorcycle. Every rider has to pay a safety deposit of Euro 1.000,- before we go.  This means that all damages lower than the deposit fee, will be withdrawn from the credit card.  Damages higher than the deposit fee: the rider pays all the deposit, (in this case Euro 1.000,-) and the insurance company will pay the rest.
Insurance:
Third part liability is equivalent to the amount stipulated by Icelandic law at each time. This also applies to the amount of individual driver liability. Third party coverage and personal accident insurance is automatically included in the price
.
VAT:

Local value added tax (VAT) is 24,5% and is included in the price. 

Collision Damage Waiver (CDW):

CDW insurance is  included the price, the driver liability in excess of ISK 180,000,-

River crossing:

When crossing a river on the motorcycle, you are fully responsible for the bike.  If something happens in the river to the bike, you will have to pay all the damages to the bike yourself.  No insurance company will cover damages that happens in a water.  If you do not want to take that risk, you can ask the guide to take the bike over the water or you can put the bike on a trailer which is usual on the support vehicle.
